Close-up

As a thank-you gift for shooting their wedding, Lech and Drea generously gave me a Tamron 90mm macro lens. I love this baby. It takes some delicious photos. Inspired by photographer Angie Seckinger's stunning macro art, Sabrina and I took advantage of a beautiful afternoon in Golden Gate Park for a photo sojourn. Armed with our macro lenses we crouched down and discovered an amazing world often overlooked by the passers-by.

We started in the Dahlia Dell, next to the Conservatory of Flowers.

I found other cool plants to photograph.

We walked around the Conservatory a little bit, taking pics of grass, flowers, leaves.

Then we headed west to the Rose Garden. While I can't say it's as beautiful as the Portland Rose Gardens or the Oakland Municipal Rose Garden, it is quite nice, with a huge variety of roses.

And with macro photography, you really don't need much to find something interesting. It's all around.

Beautiful photos. I'm jealous. Were we even on the same photowalk?
