And when I say Home Stuff, I mean go shopping. I had great intentions of enjoying my "day off" with this gorgeous whether, maybe spend some time at the beach or maybe the Embarcadero. Somehow I ended up grocery shopping, prepping dinner (cold Somen noodles, perfectly refreshing for this 80 degree day), then gathering up the three bags of stuff to take the thrift store. I made it to Community Thrift and donated the bags, specifying the proceeds go to Yoshi's school. Then I wandered into the shop and relived my youth of thrifting for clothes. I'm in need of some slacks and jeans, so I perused the aisles. I found this awesome pair of Benetton trousers (with tags still on!), but it was ever so slightly too small for comfort. I sadly had to put it back on the rack. The other pants were fails too. But I did end up with some clothes that will hopefully be good for work (keep your eyes peeled Sabrina), including this oversized gold silk blazer-jacket thing (also with tags still on... that retails for $300?!). I know when Tom sees it he's gonna ask if I got it from Chico's or Talbots. I don't know what it means when I'm drawn to clothing that is designed for a 50 year old.
So I spent about forty bucks at the thrift store, which always seems like a lot of money for a thrift store. But then I realized that I just bought a simple tank top at BCBG over the weekend for the same price that I got two blouses, two jackets, and a dress today. It's all about the balance.
