It's our new TV + Easel. Tom's laptop went kaput several months ago, and pretty much the only thing it's good for now is watching DVDs. Tom put on his crafty hands and created this awesome media display. We bought an inexpensive easel from Ikea that has a whiteboard on one said and a chalkboard on the other. Tom flipped the screen on the laptop so that the monitor faces out when closed. He then cut out a hole in the easel and mounted the screen on. Add some industrial strength glue along with a thrifted frame and mat et voila! Our new Teasel. It is controlled via wireless keyboard and mouse. When it's not playing videos, a slideshow of our photos are displayed, so it looks pretty similar to a framed picture. Plus, Yoshi can still use the other side for her drawings. Yay for making new things out of old things!

Our friend Charlie just separated his laptop screen from the base and placed the screen in an old window with panels. It's a long window so it sits up against the wall and looks pretty cool, too! I love the easel idea.
