Tispy lunch

I split a pitcher of margaritas over lunch today with my buddy Daniel, as is our lunching ritual at Puerto Allegre. It's really painful for the rest of the day, especially when the week is not over yet and there's still work to be done. But it must be worth it because I continue to partake in such activities.

So in my drunken slightly tipsy state, today I reflect on my life. I'm going through my google reader, checking out the blogs, notably the White House press feed and some other political blogs. I'm humbled by their worldly achievements, striving for civil rights, peace and all that. I realize that I've done very little with my life. I live a pretty shallow life. I admit that sometimes the first thing I think of when I wake up (aside from, "Oh no, it's time to get up already!") is "what am I going to wear to work today?" Sad, huh. I wonder if I'll ever be so passionate about something that I'll make a difference in the world. I take pictures, but haven't figured out what I love to photograph. I don't know what my voice is.

I suppose I should take solace in the fact that at least I can raise a good kid (so far).

There's really no point to this post. I just drank too much.

Yay for love!

This week Tom and I celebrate another awesome year of marriage. Usually anything special we do during the month of April counts as celebrating our anniversary. Yesterday we lunched at Starbelly, which is a local bistro in the Castro. The bar is made from an old bowling lane, complete with those skinny triangle markers. The food was delicious. I had a creamy asparagus soup. Tom had a salad. And we split the burger, which they should name Yum burger because it was so tasty. I sipped on wine and Tom had beer. And we even had room in our tummies for dessert--chocolate mousse!

And because you can never have too much chocolate, I made chocolate cake at home with the help of my sous-chef Yoshi.

Yay!
