So I'm thirty years old now. It's gonna be my year. I can feel it.
My birthday was on the 12th. My super awesome hubster threw me a super awesome surprise party. While I can't say I didn't have my suspicions, what with him cleaning the house like a maniac, doing yard work, multiple loads of laundry, and even cleaning the toilet, I can say that the party
theme was a complete surprise. It was a
craft party, with all the guests asked to make a crafty version of yours truly, Tom and some friends provided the crafty supplies. I received a papier-mâchéed pink robot of me, macaroni runner of me, a popsicle stick cheerleader version of me, a cardboard poem version of me... it goes on and on. I received some great gifts, including this super awesome potholder/trivet set made with kettle-dyed cotton and linen yarn in a Tunisian crochet stitch. It was so great to see my friends and the crafts they made. So creative!
And I got not one, but two
Fudgie The Whale ice cream cakes complete with chocolate crunchy goodness. Fun!
The weird thing was that Yoshi told me about a surprise birthday party for me a few days before my birthday.
"There's going to be a surprise party for you! With two cakes (later she tells me it will be Fudgie the Whale)
and cupcakes... and your friends will be there... and there will be a few of my friends too so I will have someone to play with..." Tom swears that he never told Yoshi because she can't keep a secret. But she ended up making up the truth!
